Hello everyone !

Welcome to the second month of the the Squirrels Gone Nutz hop blog. If you are new to it, each month we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. There is a theme and/or a technique and type of supply. This month it’s “Friendship” and “Shaker”.

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

For this this card, I knew I had digital stamps from Lili of the Valley bought a few months ago, I never had the chance to use which would fit the theme. I thought this one would be perfect for a shaker card and I couldn’t resist to the pun

So first, I printed it. I traced a 0.5cm /0.2″ frame around the frame of the image. I colored this frame in blue with my alcohol markers, then, I colored the rest of the image. Once it was done. I used some distress Oxide inks on the bottom of the image: the same colors I used for the back of the shaker card. After that I fussy cut the top inside of the frame and the borders of the blue frame.

I wanted to give an enamel look to the frame and I had a bottle of Nuvo Crystal glaze I never used before. So I put the glaze on my frame. I followed the instructions and decided to let it completely dry for 24 hours. I just added some Nuvo drops on the flowers before putting it aside.

The main part of the shaker was done, so I decided to make the back. I cut a square piece into white card stock and I played with my Distress Oxides ink pads.

After my glaze dried, I glued a square of acetate behind it and added foams pads. I added sequins on the back colored square and glued the front part on it. The shaker part was done !

Then, I used my Silhouette Portrait 3 to cut my “Friendsheep” sentiement.

I also used two stitched rectangles dies into white and teal card stocks.

I matted and layered them and added my shaker part and my sentiment.

Et voilà !

Voici l’heure du deuxième mois du hop blog appelé “the Squirrels Gone Nutz”. Pour ceux qui ne savent pas ce que c’est, le but de ce hop est de faire un project par mois en utilisant des produits que l’on utilise pas assez. Il y a un thème ainsi qu’une technique et/ou un matériel à utiliser. Ce mois-ci le thème était “amitié” et “Shaker”.

Cette fois-ci, c’est moi qui ouvre le bal et je vous invite à aller sur le blog de la talentueuse V juste après

Pour cette carte, je savais que j’avais des images de chez Lili of the Valley, achetées il y a quelques mois que je n’avais jamais utilisées et qui iraient très bien avec le thème. Celle-ci était parfaite pour une carte shaker et je ne pouvais pas résister au jeu de mot (jeu de mots en anglais entre friendship (amitié) et sheep (mouton)) .

En premier lieu, j’ai imprimé l’image. J’ai tracé un cadre à 0.5 cm du cadre de l’image. Je l’ai colorié en bleu avec mes marqueurs et j’ai colorié le reste de l’image. Une fois cela fait, j’ai utilisé mes encres Distress Oxide sur le bas de l’image. J’ai utilisé les mêmes couleurs que celles utilisées pour le fond de la partie shaker. Ensuite, j’ai découpé avec mes ciseaux la partie intérieure du cadre au dessus des moutons, ainsi que le contours du cadre bleu.

Je voulais un effet un peu laqué sur le cadre bleu, alors j’ai décidé d’utiliser mon Crystal Glaze de Nuvo dont je n’avais pas encore eu l’occasion de me servir. Je l’ai appliqué sur le cadre et j’ai suivi les instructions qui conseillaient d’attendre 24h pour que cela sèche complètement. J’ai juste ajouté quelques gouttes de drop sur les fleurs avant de mettre cette partie du shaker de côté.

La partie principale étant terminée, je me suis attaquée au fond du shaker. J’ai découpé un carré dans du papier épais blanc et j’ai joué avec mes encres Distress Oxide.

Une fois que la partie supérieure était sèche, j’ai collé un carré d’acétate derrière elle et de la mousse adhésive. J’ai posé des sequins sur le carré coloré de fond et j’ai collé la partie supérieure dessus. Le shaker était terminé !

Après cela, j’ai utilisé ma Silhouette Portrait 3 pour écrire mon message.

Ensuite, j’ai utilisé deux matrices pour découper deux rectangles dans du papier blanc et bleu turquoise.

J’ai superposé et collé les deux puis ai ajouté la partie shaker et mon message.

Et voilà !
