Hop blog “Squirrelz Stash Bash” January

Hello everyone !

Meet the four wintery best friends ! Four ? Yes ! The last one is an adorable little brown bear and he was taking the picture so couldn’t be in it. They are all inseparable and can always count on each other !

Welcome to our monthly hop blog called the Squirrels Stash bash. For my regular viewers you may notice that for the new year we decided to change our name and our little mascot.

Our main concept remains the same : we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. Each month we have a theme and a technique and type of supply to use to make our project. This year we also decided to add sketches and some other twist you will discover later !

This month the theme is Friendship / Love and we had to follow this sketch from Paper Play ( if you are looking for sketches this blog is a goldmine !).

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

If you are hopping you should come from the blog of the super inventive Karen and after me, I invite you to hop to the blog of the very talented Marie.

For this month project I wanted to use this adorable Tiny Winter set from CC Designs. I didn’t have the chance to use it yet , and I thought they were a perfect representation of friendship.

To integrate them to the sketch I decided to rotate it ! So I follow the sketch horizontally.

First, I stamped the cuties, colored them with my markers and fussy cut them.

Then, I used pattern papers I wanted to use since last year, brown cardstock and stitches rectangle dies to make my background. I matted and layered the brown rectangle and the beige one. I cut a strip on an other pattern paper and a lightly bigger in brown cardstock and I matted and layered them. I used the smaller stitched rectangle die to cut their sides. I glued my stripes on the base of my card.

After that, I stamped my sentiment from the CC Designs Snowy Bears set with my LDRS Coffee Bean Hybrid inkpad. I glued my three cuties with foam pads.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_20220114_114727_341.jpg

Finally, to complet the sketch I decided to glued three little snowflakes on my card. They were white but I colored them with my brown markers.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !

  1. Just adorable and great coloring, as usual!!! And I love the brown bear too 😉 Kudos to you on that fussy cutting, my friend! Cutting the ear muffs had to be tricky. I stamped and fussy cut the crafty images I used, planning on putting them on colored backdrops, but then I realized I’d have to cut the inside out of the scissors handles and I scrapped that plan!!! You clearly have more patience and steadier hands than me!
