Hop blog “Squirrelz Stash Bash” August

Hello everyone !

After a small break, it’s time for our monthly hop blog called the Squirrels Stash bash.

Our main concept is simple : we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. Each month we have a theme and a technique, sketch or type of supply to use to make our project.

This month the theme was Summer / Vacation and the supply was dies.

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

If you are hopping you should come from the blog of Karen and after me, I invite you to hop to Anna’s blog to discover her beautiful projects.

For my project I decided to feature three products I really like but never had the chance to use yet because I was saving them for the perfect occasion. So I decided to make a platform pop-up card with my Lawn Fawn die sets and two MFT stamp sets.

Lawn Fawn have a great tutorial for its platform dies. You can find it here.

For the bottom part of my platform I decided to tweak things a little bit : I wanted two colors : the outside in blue to represent the water and the inside in champagne for my sand. I die cut the two parts of the platform in blue and champagne. I cut the bottom of the blue parts and glued them on the champagne ones. I also added dots on my champagne platform.

I cut the three T pieces into the same champagne cardstock.

I put all the part together.

I cut the square and rectangle stitched parts into white cardstock and I inked them with my Simon Says Stamp inks and water. I glued them on my platform. I also cut the three little ground parts into white cardstock and colored them with my markers.

I used my Platform pop-up add-on to cut the top part of my platform into yellow cardstock. I cut the stitched parts into white cardstock and I used my Lawn Fawn Slimline cloudy stencils with my Distress Oxide Mustard Seeds and Distress Saltwater Taffy inks on them.

After that, I stamped my images from my MFT Penguins in Paradise and YUZU Island Shell-ebration stamp sets on Xpress-it blending card, colored them with my markers and fussy cut them.

I glued them on my platform.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !

  1. Fussy cut. Seriously…fussy cut? HOLY CRAP, woman! You must do A LOT of fussy cutting to be that dang good at it! Mine would look like they were chopped apart! I love your cute little platform pop up scene! 🙂
