Let’s Go Bananas !

Hi everyone !

Today, I share with you a shaker card I made with the adorable Crafty Meraki True Chimpion and the beautiful Monet’s Garden stamp sets .

First, I cut a square into Kraft cardstock. Then, I stamped the little banana from the True Chimpion stamp set multiple times with my brown inkpad. I colored them with my pencils. I keep my coloring very simple because I didn’t want to draw too much attention to the bananas, I wanted a soft patterned paper look.

After that, I cut a white rectangle slightly bigger than my scalloped die. I inked it with my Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad Celery, Limelicious and Pearfection inkpads. Then, I stamped my Monet’s Garden stamp with my darkest green on it.

I used a scalloped rectangle die to cut a frame. I stamped my sentiment on it with a brown inkpad.

After that, I cut a rectangle into white cardstock and inked the borders. You dont’ need to ink it completely since you will only see the edges. I matted and layered it with a slightly bigger brown rectangle and glued my bananas patterned piece on top.

Then, I stamped my monkeys and the trees. For the tree I mirrored it. To do so, I used my stamping platform and a thin silicone mat ( I have the best result with the purple one from my Gemini Junior machine).

I placed my stamp on the top part of the stamping platform and I inked it. On the bottom part, I placed my silicone mat. I stamped my tree on it three or four times.

Then, I took a piece of my marker friendly cardstock and I put it on my silicone mat. I push gently on it to transfer the ink. Just make sure you don’t move the paper once it’s in place.

There you go ! You have you mirrored palm tree. It won’t be as crisp as a regular stamping but once it will be colored you won’t be able to see the difference.

For the shaker part, I glued a piece of acetate behind my frame and I put foam on the edges. I glued my images on front. I put sequins on the middle of my card ( I stamped, colored some bananas with my markers and fussy cut them to add with the regular sequins); I glued my frame on top of it.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !
