Hop blog “Squirrelz Stash Bash” November

Hello everyone !

It’s time for our monthly hop blog called the Squirrels Stash bash.

Our main concept is simple : we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. Each month we have a theme and a technique, sketch or type of supply to use to make our project.

This month the theme was Leaves and the technique Masking.

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

If you are hopping you should come from the blog of Karen and after me, I invite you to hop to Marie’s blog to discover her awesome project.

For this month theme I had several products I knew I wanted to use and one of them was the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Fall Leaves Add-On. I never had the chance to use it so I started with it. I die cut it into white cardstock. I also cut three leaves twice. I inked them with my Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad Rose and my Distress Oxide Mustard Seeds and Spiced Marmelade inkpads. I splattered various shades (dark pink, orange, white and gold) of pearlescent watercolors on it.

After that, for the base of my card I used my Lisa Horton Stitched scalloped die into dark brown cardstock. I used the matching square die into kraft cardstock. I embossed it with my Spellbinders Knock on Wood embossing folder. It’s the first time I used it and I love it ! It’s big (5.50″ x 8.50″) so you can use it for many projects and it has so much depth ! I inked it with my Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad Rose and I matted and layered my two square panels.

For the main focus I decided to use my Clearly Besotted Nordic Plushies stamp set. I stamped my cute bear and the background onto my Xpress-it blending card. I also stamped the background on masking paper (you thought I forgot that part of the theme ? ).

I used a circle die matching the size of my leaves wreath to cut a part of the background. I colored it and the bear with my markers and I fussy cut the bear. After that, I fussy cut the background I stamped on the masking paper and I placed it on my colored background. I inked my sky with my Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad Peony and I used a stencil on it to make the wind. After that, I stamped my sentiment with a brown inkpad.

Finally, I glued all the parts together.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !

  1. Lounon, this is gorgeous! I’m loving the color combo so much! Brilliant idea to use the iris add on die without doing the whole iris feature. I wouldn’t have thought of that. Your adorable nordic bear could not ask for a better home! I love it!
