Hop blog “Squirrelz Stash Bash” February 2023

Hello everyone !

It’s time for the Squirrels Stash bash hop blog of the month!

Our main concept is simple : we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. Each month we have a theme and a technique, sketch or type of supply to use to make our project.

This month the theme was Animals and the supply was texture or glitter paste.

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

If you are hopping, you should come from the blog of V. and after me I invite you to hop to Anna’s blog.

For this month I wanted to use one of the digital set from KiaB. I discovered Chiara’s adorable images a few months back but didn’t have the time to make a project with one of them yet. I was in the mood for a tropical tag so I thought I could use the Sotto Questo Sole set.

First, I printed my cuties. I used my Crafty Meraki Wishes Slimline Tag to frame my octopus and fussy cut the top. I also used it twice onto white cardstock. I colored them and the top of the tag with my markers. I fussy cut the animals and the flowers.

I used my Illustrators GB7 GB4 GB2 GB1 for the sand and my Copics V09 V17 V15 V06 V04 V01 for the purple parts, E15 E3 E11 Y15 Y11 for the yellow parts, YG67 YG25 YG03 YG01 for the green parts.

After that, I inked my tag with my Pawsitively Saturated Ocean, Surf and Seafoam inkpads. I splattered water and inks on it.

I was planning on using a blue glitter texture paste but when I was about to use it I discovered it was dry

I had to improvise I took my Ranger Opaque matte white paste and mix it with blue watercolor and ink form one of my blue sparkle pen. Then, I used my Ciao Bella Texture Flow stencil with my “blue glitter” paste on it.

Finally, I glued my colored images on my tag and added a ribbon.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !

  1. Wow! Your tag is gorgeous, Lounon! And your DIY glitter paste came out great! Good thinking!!! I’m loving these adorable images and will have to check out the company. Your coloring is well done, like always, and I’m totally loving the color combo you used too! We need to put glitter/texture pastes back in the rotation to make us use up the jars that are still good before they dry up like the rest!

  2. This turned out AMAZING! As always, your coloring is so bright and cheerful, and your fussy cutting skills are top notch! I love how you created your own glitter paste using other supplies in your stash that still worked. 🙂
