Hop blog “Squirrelz Stash Bash” October

Hello everyone !

It’s time for our monthly hop blog called the Squirrels Stash bash.

Our main concept is simple : we have to make a project with supplies we don’t use enough. Each month we have a theme and a technique, sketch or type of supply to use to make our project.

This month the theme was Vintage and the supply (unusual) embellishment.

So welcome to the new hoppers and for my regular viewers, thank you for stopping by today!

If you are hopping you should come from the blog of Anna and after me, I invite you to hop to Marie’s blog to discover her lovely project.

For this month I knew I wanted to make a rosette. I really like them but don’t make them a lot ( to be honest, I don’t know if I ever integrated a rosette in one of my project, except maybe for ornements ?).

I decided to use papers from my Crafter’s Companion Sara Signature Parisian Collection paper pad. I never use it before and it has the perfect vintage look. I used sheets with a light brown washed out effect. One of them ( I used it for the front panel) also had an elegant women silhouette on it.

Those papers were a good base but it was not the final look I wanted. I decided to use a big background stamp, the Newspaper Collage set from Crafter’s Companion ( I really love it but haven’t use it for a long time). I stamped it on my sheets with my Distress Oxide Ground Expresso.

I used a Silhouette file to cut the two parts of my rosette onto my papers. I glued them together. I only had pastel buttons so I decided to add glue and copper glitter on one of them. It was the perfect touch to finish my rosette.

After that, I cut my two torn panels with my Silhouette Portrait 3 : one on brown cardstock and the smallest on my paper with my Lady. I matted and layered them.

I stamped my sentiment from the same set with my Distress Oxide Ground Expresso.

And since the theme was embellishment I added a more classic one : a small bow.

And for the final touch I decided to add two last embellishments: I used my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Big Bite to add two eyelets.

Et voilà !

May the craft be with you !

  2. Wow, I love the shape of this, Lounon! I need to know where you got that cut file! Your rosette is beautiful, and I love how you altered your button to match your card. I’d say you definitely hit the vintage “nail on the head!” 🙂
